Solicitors

Manchester OT take many referrals directly from solicitors. These include solicitors acting on behalf of individuals whose claim has not yet been settled but are in need of occupational therapy. In these cases, we provide ongoing reports for their claim regarding the treatment required and associated costs.

We also provide medico-legal assessment and report writing services for clients and solicitors throughout the United Kingdom.

We also work with solicitors who are managing individuals’ finances once a claim has been settled. In these cases, progress and update reports are provided as necessary.

Functional Assessments and Rehabilitation
If your client is finding difficulty with everyday activities of daily living following an injury or illness, they may need occupational therapy input to try and regain their independence and improve their quality of life. We are able to provide assessment and advice for them and devise a personalised rehabilitation programme.

Equipment/Adaptations
We are able to complete and assess your client in their own home and prescribe and fit any pieces of equipment to promote their independence within their home and make everyday tasks easier. Assessment and advice can also be given with regards to more major adaptations e.g. stairlifts, level access showers, through floor lifts, ramps etc.

Medico-Legal Report Writing
The occupational therapists at Manchester OT can provide detailed medico legal reports with regards to care, rehabilitation and therapy needs, special equipment, housing and environmental needs in relation to medical negligence and personal injury litigation.
