Manchester OT provide clinic and home based assessments and treatment for private individuals. We make it possible for adults and children who need occupational therapy to avoid long waiting lists for assessment and treatment.

Manchester OT provide a full assessments can provide comprehensive assessment reports to ensure that the needs of each individual are identified and a plan of action made. Our occupational therapists will:

Ensure a client has the best opportunity of staying within their home as safely as possible for if this is what they would like to achieve.
Assist in planning discharge from hospital.
Recommend any equipment or adaptations that will assist an individual.
Identify suitable housing and/or adaptations needed to an individual’s home environment.

Functional Assessment

The occupational therapists at Manchester OT carry out various assessments on how you manage your everyday activities and provide you with advice and information to try and regain and maintain your independence and improve your quality of life as well as the lives of people looking after you.

Rehabilitation

If you have suffered an injury or illness, you can be provided with a personalised treatment program to assist you to recover from this and meet agreed goals.

Provision of daily living equipment

The occupational therapists at Manchester OT can assess you in your home environment and prescribe and fit any pieces of equipment to promote your independence within your home and make everyday tasks easier.

Wheelchair assessment

If you are in need of a wheelchair, the occupational therapists at Manchester OT can complete an assessment as to the most appropriate type of wheelchair for your needs. This can then be monitored and reviewed as appropriate.

Assessment of major home adaptations

Assessment and advice is given by the occupational therapists a Manchester OT to consider major home adaptations e.g. stairlifts, walk-in showers, through floor lifts, ramps etc.

Splints

The occupational therapists at Manchester OT fabricate specialised splints and prescribe ready made splints. Splints can be used in the treatment of a variety of conditions and can be used to rest painful or swollen joints, improve the function of joint or to immobilise a joint. Your occupational therapist will assess whether a splint is needed and the best splint for your problem. They can then continually monitor the splint and provide advice and instructions on its use.
