Orthopaedic Occupational Therapy |
Manchester OT provides occupational therapy to clients with orthopaedic problems. Our occupational therapists have specialist experience in treating orthopaedic conditions, for example following a hip or knee replacement or fracture.
Functional Assessment
The occupational therapists at Manchester OT carry out various assessments on how you manage your everyday activities. Following this you will be given advice and information to try and regain and maintain your independence and improve the quality of life of you and those looking after you.

Rehabilitation
If appropriate, you will be provided with a personalised treatment and rehabilitation program to meet agreed goals.

Provision of daily living equipment
Our occupational therapists can undertake an assessment of you in your home environment and prescribe and fit any pieces of equipment to promote your independence within your home and make everyday tasks easier.

Splints
Our occupational therapists can fabricate specialised splints or prescribe readymade splints. Splints can be used in the treatment of a variety of conditions and can be used to rest painful or swollen joints, improve the function of joint or to immobilise a joint. Your occupational therapist will assess whether a splint is needed and the best splint for your problem. They will then continually monitor the splint and provide advice and instructions on its use.
