Manchester OT assess, recommend and provide aids and adaptations to make everyday tasks easier.

Aids

If you are struggling with any aspects of daily activities as a result of an injury or illness, it may be that you would benefit from the provision of some daily living equipment to promote your independence. The occupational therapists at Manchester OT can complete an assessment of you in your own home environment and prescribe and fit any necessary pieces of equipment to aid your independence. You will then be shown how to use these safely and correctly. Following this you can be monitored and reviewed as necessary.

Adaptations

The occupational therapists at Manchester OT can complete an assessment for major adaptations that you need to your house to enable you to be more independent or assist you to complete daily activities, for example, level access shower, stairlift, through floor lift etc. Once this assessment has been completed and the need for an adaptation is agreed, we will pass the recommendations onto the relevant organisation in the form of a report.

It may be that you would be eligible for a disabled facilities grant to contribute towards the cost of the adaptation and we can provide you with relevant information and support your application for this.

Hire

Manchester OT also provide clients with the option of hiring equipment for short term use. For example: wheelchairs, commodes, shower chairs, and hoists. Our hire equipment can be hired by the week or month.
